The Lord has given special gifts to each of us and He has privileged us to be able to minister to our congregation and community through these gifts and area of the Fine Arts Ministry.
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God … if anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” I Peter 4:10-11
Rehearsal Times
Wednesdays: 5:30- 6:50 pm in choir room
Sundays: 9:15 am in the Sanctuary
The Family Worship Center’s Adult Worship Choir is a means by which adult men and women are able to use their God-given musical abilities in praise and worship. The Adult Worship Choir and Praise Band are responsible for the music provided in the Sunday morning service at 10:00am. We will also have other opportunities to reach out to our community with special productions at Christmas, Easter, and at other times. These special productions give us the opportunity to join with other areas of our Fine Arts ministry and use the multitude of other talents with which God has blessed our church. Most importantly, the Adult Worship Choir is a group of people dedicated to God and committed to the Family Worship Center ministry.
The ultimate goals are…
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men” Colossians 3:23
Requirements for Membership
You will be asked to complete the Fine Arts Profile. Once you join the choir, you will then complete two weeks of rehearsals before singing in an actual service. This will give you the opportunity to become familiar with and adapt to the routine.

The first reference to music in the Bible appears in Genesis 4:21 and identifies Jubal as the father of all those who play on the lyre and the pipe. Joshua 6:4-5 recounts the special occasion where the priests blew their trumpets and the walls of Jericho collapsed. During times of war, singers and instrumentalists always led into battle, singing songs of victory.
Possibly the most outstanding reference to music in temple worship is contained in II Chronicles 5:12-14. Here all the instrumentalists and singers were robed and properly placed in the Temple and it relates as to how they performed in “one mind and one accord” so that the Spirit of the Lord descended upon the house with His presence and seal of approval. Prayerfully, this is to be OUR goal!
